I'm bored here at work and they taught me that this is supposedly art, so....yeah. :smoking:

First underground level of something that will never exist, nor was it intended to exist. Guessing game, anyone?

This very nearly cost me my degree back in the day, coz
"...no way in hell a student could organize a facility this complex to meet all the regulations, norms and requirements unless he flat-out copied it from somewhere, because even esteemed professors consult experts when dealing with these things".

Ever heard of something called research, ha?
Sigh...very bad memories. A truckload of nerves I'll never get back...

Pricks.

Amazing. Tell me about cantankerous professors. My final year research project got stolen by my supervisor who was studying for another research degree in that line. These people fear that we may take their spot and make them irrelevant. You're a brilliant designer. Never forget that.

Thank you :thanks:

Stolen? Gahh.....but y'know, it doesn't surprise me. Where I went to school, all works done on or for the purpose of the University ARE property of the Uni, so professors more than often "shop" for ideas among student woks. And there's nothing you can do about it.. :(

several profs took it to an even higher level - a requisite for attending their exams was turning in a paper on the assigned subject, often documenting/elaborating regarding a specific significant building or structure in respective field, or a cultural heritage monument. Mostly local or in nation-wide area.

...and after a year-2 or so, a luxurious hard-covered book comes out, signed by an esteemed prof, titled "Anthology of Residential housing in XXXXX, Part 3: 1921-1931" or something similar....
Nice, eh?

Loool. Well, I'd shoot someone. Or better still, I'd place a copy of my work on the public notice board alongside pages from their book. It doesn't matter what they steal, like a wise man once told me. What is originally yours will never be someone else's original. We rule the future.

Yup, like that.....one look at the list of individual assignments for that year, and a keen eye could notice that all the buildings/structures/monuments/whatever were either all located within a suspiciously small area, all built within a suspiciously small timeframe, or have some blatant thing in common.
Once all the papers were collected, give it 6 months for compiling/editing, and WHAM - an anthology!!
...except pages 92-99 of it look strangely familiar... ;p

Some were even so bold, they asked for a copy of the paper to be turned in on a CD as well, MS Word file and pictures. I wonder why they need it!

Gah.....it was years ago, but stomach acid begins to boil every time I think of that place. Better to let the sleeping dogs lie :)

Wow - they wanted to flunk you because it was too good?! Dumbasses...

I'm sure it's level one of Barbie's Dream Mansion...

Nah, SEEK banquet hall :D

Yeah, they wanted to flunk me....because I took a break from school coz I needed monies, and worked in an actual studio for coupla years...and saw that school was too idealistic and had no connection WHATSOEVER with real life and mountains of regulations, compromises, restrictions and bureaucracy. So I got me a giant pile of related laws&crap, studied it thoroughly an did it like it was really *for real*.

Seriously, if that land was my property and and I handed this project to the municipality, I'd have gotten a permit without a doubt, everything was in there...

Waste of time and nerves.

Yeah - stupid :-(
I nearly flunked personality psychology in the first part of my studies because I challenged some of the common theories on the creation of personality in human beings. Just tried to say that maaaaaybe, just maybe mom isn't responsible for every little part of a kid's eventual personality. I tried introducing things like peers and social circles in school and such. Wow did they hate it :XD:

You....y-you mean there's a possibility that one's mother is NOT responsible for every single little crap that someone does? :omg:

Shhhh! :shh: don't tell anyone! Society would break down if we couldn't blame every bad thing that happens on somebody's bad childhood

ROFL! Gotta love the insecurities of some "esteemed" profs ... if they were doing their job right they would be praising themselves for teaching well, not bitching that you had the initiative to research.

Best comment I heard from a prof - this makes me want to vomit, looking at it makes me physically sick <<< not said to me, but the project was a complex set of high rise buildings to house and entertain imigrant workers in Dubai
in a
I dig it! What does the rest look like? ... the complexity is cool, is the central area open?
